Typical Ridge Vent Installation
This photo shows an installation of CertainTeed Air Vent ridge vent. Notice how a slot is cut at the peak of the roof. The slot
allows warm, moist air to rise to the peak of the roof where it is drawn out by a vacuum formed from air passing over the top of
the baffled ridge vent. Testing has shown that baffled ridge vents allow significantly more air to exit the attic, than do non-baffled
ridge vents. The installation is completed by installing hip & ridge shingles to the top of the ridge vent.
