CertainTeed SELECT Roofing Contractor Program
Hazardville Roofing Co., Inc. is proud to announce that we have been selected to participate in CertainTeed's
SELECT Roofing Contractor Program. This program is being introduced to provide the homeowner with the most intensive guarantees
in the roofing industry. To be accepted in this program we have had to meet the following criteria:
- At least one employee must be currently credentialed as a CertainTeed Quality Master
- Twenty Five percent of our installers must be CertainTeed Master Shingle Applicators
- We have had to provide current proof of workmen's compensation and liability insurance to CertainTeed
By meeting this criteria, we have the authorization to offer SureStart PLUS warranty coverage, which is explained in the following
section.
SureStart PLUS
SureStart PLUS is an extension of CertainTeed's standard SureStart protection, (see the Our Guarantee link on our main site),
and is available to homeowners who use CertainTeed SELECT Roofing Contractors and who purchase a CertainTeed Integrity Roof
System, (see below). Currently, all CertainTeed shingles with at least a 25-year warranty duration are covered by a minimum of
5 years of SureStart coverage. SureStart reimburses the homeowner for the cost of labor and materials to repair or replace materials
recognized by CertainTeed as defective during the SureStart period (not including removal and disposal). SureStart PLUS extends
SureStart protection and CertainTeed's limited wind warranty terms to a total of 15 years rather than the normal 5 year
duration. In addition, CertainTeed will pay to the SELECT Roofing Contractor who originally installed the system,
removal costs, in any situation where it is determined that the company's materials are considered defective
from a manufacturing standpoint and the only remedy is replacement.
CertainTeed Integrity Roof System
To qualify as a CertainTeed Integrity Roof System the roof system must be installed using the following:
- Any CertainTeed shingle with at least a 25-year warranty duration that is installed according to guidelines established by the
CertainTeed Shingle Applicator's Manual; and
- Attic ventilation that is installed to meet applicable model code requirements or HUD/FHA minimum attic ventilation guidelines.
Ventilation devices must be manufactured by Air Vent, Inc. a CertainTeed company; and
- Underlayment, manufactured by CertainTeed, and installed in accordance with the CertainTeed Shingle Applicator's
Manual. If CertainTeed underlayment is not available, any substituted product must meet ASTM D4869 or ASTM D226 (non perforated).
WinterGuard Waterproofing Shingle Underlayment must be installed at the eaves and in the valleys in accordance with the
specifications outlined in the Shingle Applicator's Manual.
To sum up, if you purchase a CertainTeed Integrity Roof System from a CertainTeed SELECT Roofing Contractor, you will have the peace of
mind of knowing that during the next 15 years if your roof proves to be defective, it will be removed and replaced at no cost to you.
This is by far, the most outstanding guarantee in the shingle industry today.
